Today in weird celebrity news, it appears as though beloved Aussie legend Hugh Jackman is copping a roasting from fans for his role as Wolverine.
Thousands have signed an online Change.org petition to replace him with Danny DeVito should the X-Men character make it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As of Friday, almost 28,000 people have signed the petition to cast the 74-year-old actor as the mutant wolf superhero.
“The only man able to take the throne after Hugh Jackman,” the petition reads.
“We believe that if Wolverine is to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the only man able to pull it off is Danny DeVito.”
While the X-Men franchise is owned by Marvel, it has separate story arcs from characters such as Captain America and Iron Man in the Avengers franchise.
There have been talks about Wolverine crossing over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time, but it’s still mostly fan speculation.
Jackman, 50, first played the character in 2000’s X-Men and continued the role for years, ending with 2017’s Logan.
